In December 2023, the first issue of Transfer – the journal for art therapy and related sciences – was published.

We are introducing a new channel of communication among mental health professionals with the aim of improving the quality of the services we provide, enhancing mutual understanding between professions, and sharing knowledge and experience.

We also present art therapy, promoting it as a profession, as a clinical practice, and as a science, and we encourage research in this field. We strive toward spaces of growth to which we also actively contribute.

In this first, historic issue of Transfer, read about the origins of art therapy and its development as discussed by Judith Rubin, a renowned expert and author; what the professional path of a successful art therapist looks like today; how art therapy contributes to the educational system and whether it is possible to incorporate art therapy into schools; what trauma work looks like when using an art therapy protocol; how a traditional technique can be transformed into an art therapy protocol; and how animation is used with children and young people in processing the trauma of war.
